Re: Gslp

Belt designed for lifts like that

Have a vest but dislike taking out and putting them back in

Today's workout

Tuesday

Burpees 4x20 (in under a minute). 1 min rest between sets

Pushups 4x15 through day

Blew through first 3 sets with 15 secs to spare. Last set was with about 8 seconds to spare.

So should I go for 5x20 or try like 3x25?

Re: Gslp

I would go 3x25, then 2x30, 2x35, 2x40, 2x45, then 1x50, 1x55...like he recommends somewhere on his site.

Re: Gslp

Three weeks in, and my DL progression is confusing me. Here are weeks 1-3:

225 x 14
235 x 13
250 x 13

I went with the big 15lb jump this week because I wanted to bring my reps down, but that obviously didn't work.

I'm not in a hurry to reset and don't want to add too much, too fast... but also want to be in the right rep range.

On a different but related note, my sets are only limited by grip/hands/forearms failing.

Thoughts?

ur ability to increase weight and maintain reps on the last set is a demonstration of ur increasing strength! So awesome work!
i'd stick with 15lb jumps until u hit the 10rep mark. u prob wont maintain that rate of increase very long then u can reduce to 5lbs.

Re: Gslp

If your grip is holding you back you can add in some dumbbell rows after bench days. 2-3 sets of 20-30 reps will improve things in a hurry. Or get a pair of Fat Gripz (WFS) and start using them for pullups, rows, warmup deadlift sets, curls, etc.

Thanks my man! I'm off to rock some Deads/Bench/Curls/Dips and a short metcon.

Re: Gslp

Wednesday

Bench 185x2x5 x10
Deadlift 335x6

Felt week those first 2 sets of 5, and figured I was fatigued from Fran today (did 185 before thinking of doing 192.5). So stuck with 185, and repped out 10 reps... gah now I wish I had gone heavier...

Deadlift was tough, jumped to much I guess since last week I jacked it all up doing 3 sets. Will see next week if I can get 340x5+

Doing burpees tonight. Been at gym since 530am between workout and training folks. Time for some other non-gym work.

Re: Gslp

Friday 5/4/12

Press 130x2x5 130x1x8
Weighted Chins 285.x9 x7
Squats 335x2x5 335x8

Working off of 3 hours of sleep (stayed up and watched the Avengers last night, go see that puppy as its a great movie!). Did this between clients this morning. Glad its Friday

Need to do burpees tonight!

Also didn't use neck harness, left at home... may do those tonight too... may not.. will crash early. Trying to dial in my diet (again) after last nights movie popcorn / wingstop wings combo.

Re: Gslp

since we have reset everything except bench, we decided to switch to the rotating lift program from the 2nd edition. also, we are adding 2 sets of 12-8 shrugs and 1 set of 8-12 calf raises. interested to see how things are looking in a few weeks.
