HU-WAT??

This whole time I've been doing Lynne in a "pushhhhhh-rackthebar-GO" fashion, and you're telling me I have like 20 extra seconds to burn?

I should create a workout called "Lin" where the seconds between racking and pulling are subtracted from the score.

Um, no. Lynne is not a pure metcon. There is NO requirement, intent, or suggestion to move from bench to pullup bar with no rest.

Show me where it says so - it doesn't. Know why? Because it's not a requirement.

So saith the namesake of the WOD.

PS, don't tell me "well that's the way Brendan did it." Brendan also did it with his a$$ a foot off the bench. None of those reps counted, AFAIK. The WOD does not prescribe "decline bench press." Bench press requires butt and shoulders to maintain contact with the ground, and feet to maintain contact with the ground (Sorry, Nicole...)

Re: Lynne - Specify "strict" PU?

So, does the allowance (per the namesake) of taking a rest between push-ups and pull-ups and then again between each round mean that Lynne is designed as more of a strength workout, and is only metcon in the fact that, as your become progressively stronger, you will be lifting/pulling your body weight for higher reps?

If it is indeed a strength workout with little to no metcon, wouldn't it make sense to rest 3-5 minutes between bench press and pull-ups and 3-5 minutes between rounds?

Wait Lynne come back. So what are the rest time(s) supposed to be between rounds and/or sets?

Very ironic development folks. My shoulders don't have to be this sore?

Re: Lynne - Specify "strict" PU?

At my affiliate we didn't do it in a metcon fashion. I just moved to the next movement when I felt rested/stretched enough that I could get maximum reps. It was still a good workout, but definitely a strength workout and not a metcon, the way I did it.

Re: Lynne - Specify "strict" PU?

I did it with a buddy this morning. We're nowhere near an affiliate. I did bench then right to pullups (with enough time to chalk and shake out my arms). Then when I was done, he did a set while I spotted him. So essentially, we rested a couple of minutes in between sets but not really in between exercises.
