Just because you do not have the athletic ability to perform complex and advanced movements does not give you the right to criticize an elite level athlete for pushing himself and trying new things.

The "eliteness" of the athlete does not change the inherent safeness of the movement being performed. Fact is, most people would agree that the risks of that movement outweigh the benefits. If that makes anybody that thinks that an unathletic nobody, well, I'd rather keep my legs above the shin than be elite anyway.

Wait a second Jeremy.
At first you said you were just having fun and trying something new for the hell of it. Then you turn around and say others aren't athletic enough for "advanced" movements.
Whether the movement in question is "advanced" or not is surely up for debate.
What is not up for debate, you have to acknowledge, is the obvious risk of injury to the athlete by performing this movement.
If he catches a toe on the box, where does that barbell fall? If the shoulder gives out, or his grip slips, what happens? How badly does he get injured in the process? Is that risk really worth the reward of trying something like this?

It's his son in the video anyway, so it's not technically self-proclaimed.

Not to be be a killjoy, but if you've been paying attention, folks have been getting the ban hammer lately for violating the terms of the site...take a look at 'em if unfamiliar...there's a couple of posts on here that are pretty likely to result in a ban, so you might want to clean those up before someone makes the decision for you?

If not, no biggie.

I agree, and though I don't think you're directing your post at me, I would characterize my post above to clearly fall within:
