My god man, it's college football!

Where is your pride, your spirit.....your unbridled joy that the first game starts in just weeks?

Re: Meat Fest 2010

Why would I have pride in the accomplishments of people whom I have no control or influence over?

Re: Meat Fest 2010

I'm not sure where I was because I didn't know about them. I really don't care about sports that I'm not playing or friends aren't playing. The outcome has no impact on my life ata ll otherwise.

Re: Meat Fest 2010

How so? I don't have my selfworth or pride wrapped up in the accomplishments of people who are only tangetially related to me and over whom I have no influence?

I supported the team I played for.

Re: Meat Fest 2010

That's taking it a bit too seriously.

I don't think anyone should live vicariously through a team and they certainly shouldn't base their self worth on the outcome of a game.

But when you have strong connections and a long history with a school there's nothing wrong with cheering them on and talking some trash.

I just never cared and I was even a cheerleader for 2 years. FO rthe 2 years I had an interest in how well the basketball team did and once I stopped cheering, I had no interest. Win or loss, there was no difference, no change.
