That was a hardcore 1st wod for me! I did not complete it. Subbed 30 burpees for each run and not knowing good kipping PU form, I did strict 10-15 reps each round. The kb swings were relatively easy for me because I've been doing them for about two years with a 2 pood in each hand. I jumped around the order a bit and completed about 3-4 rounds.

A humbling experience indeed...I plan on wod protocol for at least a month or so to see how my conditioning improves. I'm looking forward to it!!

Re: "Eva"

This one ruined my life. Unfortunately, equipment limitations forced a couple of subs, so I remain eager to complete the real thing. The first sub was that I have neither a 70# KB or DB here at home, so I used my 1.5 for 40 reps per round. Also, I still haven't made a decent pull-up bar, so I used rings hung on a tree. The worst part for me was the running. I have a nice .53 mile course mapped out, but today at least half of it was covered in snow, ice, or a mixture of the two. To say that this impacted my run times would be quite an understatement.
You know, this is only slightly related, but I got two 53# kettlebells for Christmas and now it seems like practically every workout using kettlebells since then calls for 70# KBs. Does Coach think I'm made of money? I am saving my pennies and waiting for the day when I can get a 2 pood, but until then I am a very bitter old (at heart) man.
Anyway, came in at a very slow 58:07. I have a goal to work this down to sub 40 when I start doing the Rx'd version.

Round1 - 12:50
Round2 - 15:52
Round3 - 16:37
Round4 - 19:00
Round5 - 17:46

Re: "Eva"

I think this counts as a Painstorm... I think they can't change the already-named workouts so they're just adding new ones that are way harder and making the dailies ridiculous...

I'll post a summary once I Total tomorrow and if possible I'll include my full logs. I'll have to go through and pull out all the stuff about my balls itching or whatever.

Anthony B you remain a myth to me...Gant, your penchant for pain is unreal.

Re: "Eva"

What should the scaling be for a 2 pood KB swing for a female?

Re: "Eva"

1.5 pood is a good sub for women.

Re: "Eva"

There are no subs for women. Only subs for people who can't complete it As Rx'd.

Subs for women make as much sense to me as subs for tall or short people. Plus, it totally undermines the message of Mia Hamm's commercial with Michael Jordan. (wfs)

Re: "Eva"

Wow, I'm crossfit newbie. This was my first WOD. My workout partner and I did it together. We used a 35 pound kb (that's all I had) and did most of the pullups assisted. Time was 49:17

I might have to call in sick to work tonight LOL! It hurts to type.
