Question about Kettlebell swing
I workout at home and don't have access to a kettlebell. I have some long resistance bands. Is there a resistance band equivalent to the kettlebell swing?

Re: Question about Kettlebell swing
Are you considering trying to use a resistance band as a substitute for a kettlebell? I don't see that working very well.

Re: Question about Kettlebell swing
Is there another equivalent exercise to the Kettlebell swing that I can do since I don't have a kettlebell?

Re: Question about Kettlebell swing
Do you have access to dumbbells? You can swing them just like KBs.
But to answer your question, no, I can't think of any conditioning exercises that will train dynamic hip extension in a similar way to a KB swing. Maybe over-the-head ball throws if you've got a med ball or sandbag you can throw as hard and far as possible. |

Re: Question about Kettlebell swing
I have a light medicine ball(8lbs). My dumbbells are the ones that separate to add or subtract weight so no overhead swings, lol.

Re: Question about Kettlebell swing
There's no need to go overhead with KB swings--you can get the same training effect with less risk of injury by going to eye level.

Re: Question about Kettlebell swing
I have a few cinder blocks with the holes in them I use. I have a 28, 30, and 35 pound blocks. I used the 35 today. I was able to get the extension over my head pretty good. The only thing is I use gloves to keep my hands from tearing up.
I have used dumbbells alot also. |

Re: Question about Kettlebell swing
Can't they do those pull throughs where you attach a band to something and hold the band between your legs?

Re: Question about Kettlebell swing
Thanks for all the suggestions. I got the WOD done yesterday. I used the dumbbell for the Kettlebell swings, worked well.
