Is there any particular reason for doing one or the other?

I'm still working very much on form for cleans -- I think I even "hit" a couple real well in my last workout. Are there some general tips/advice for performing good squat cleans and hang cleans? Should Squat cleans be butt-to-ankles?

Thanks all --

Hang cleans are good because they force you to have an explosive second pull. Squat cleans are good because as your technique and strength increase, you are able to do heavier loads.

My advice: do hang squat cleans. And I always go to full depth on my squat cleans.

The latest CFJ had an awesome article on the second pull. It is worth a look.
