Pull up bar stability in kipping?

I have a studbar laying around and want to mount it, but I cannot ceiling mount it. I was thinking I would just wall mount it but I am apprehensive because either mount would be on only one stud. Before doing this I wanted to see if anybody had any experience with wall only mounted pull up bars and kipping. I do not not want to find myself ripping the studs out of the walls as you may expect.
