Anyone else just see Tony Horton's tweet, hocking his new book? He's got a picture of Froning in the ad.

Re: Tony Horton lol

I can understand HQ sending him a message requesting to take it down if using that image is in fact ip theft and it was not available from a place like Getty Images but wow, the "social media warriors" following along looks so pathetic. The way some of those immature clowns act doesn't exactly do CrossFit any PR favors. But I guess that is the world we live in, if you find one tiny, insignificant thing that you don't like you gotta load up and get on Facebook and comment until you cannot comment anymore. Must feel good to make the world a better place, protecting it from evil.....

Re: Tony Horton lol

Yeah Russ posted it on that thread about it.

I actually have to side on Russ&CFHQ. Technically I think whoever represents Rich should have dealt with it but perhaps CFHQ did this with Rich's permission (which I'll guess Rich gave.).

A picture of a guy climbing a rope is not CF but if it's CrossFit's posterboy it's easy enough to make a case. Everyone associates Rich as the Jesus of CF.

Horton should have just found some no name CrossFitter or functional fitness enthusiast in the first place. It sure as hell isn't Horton or someone he trains.

Re: Tony Horton lol

Oh I definitely agree with the fact that he shouldn't of used it and it should have been taken down. My gripe is the social media warriors on facebook.

Re: Tony Horton lol

I wasn't personally concerned about the legal aspect of it. I don't care, and whoever concerns themselves with that (Rich, CFHQ, whoever took the picture, or has ownership of it). The 'keyboard warriors' are kind of funny, always getting excited about stuff.

I was just enjoying the irony of a guy who has based his career on hocking one very specific fitness program, and in the advertizement for said program, he uses an image of someone who is probably the most well-known figure from a different fitness program.
