Lock-Jaw Elite Collars

Looks like these collars were being used at Regionals. Anyone have experience with these? An email from Rogue said they were testing them. They have a hybrid steel design as opposed to simply resin/plastic.

I can't wait for these to come out. Mine are cracked.

I'm surprised the plastic ones still sell since they are giant pieces of doo doo. To be fair, they work great right up until they break. And they will break.

I have heard of these breaking by SO many people. I have had 4 sets of them since 2010 that have been used and abused with significant weight on the bar. Dropped thousands of times with no issues. Where are these things breaking? Did I just get a couple of lucky batches?

Re: Lock-Jaw Elite Collars

I've had these collars since February and I love them. I also have the Muscle clamps and some others but I prefer the Elites over all of them.

Got them for $50 shipped. Can't go wrong with them in my opinion.

Are these worth the extra $5-$10 over the Pro's? I've got 2 pairs of these Elites on order from Amazon and am curious as to the difference. I currently have a pair of Pro's for about a year and they work excellently. Haven't broken yet.

Thanks.

If you've not had any issues with the Pro's with repeated beatings then the extra cost for the elite's may not be worth it. But if you think about the minimal cost to do the Elites, then it may be worth that extra $10 or so bucks if for nothing but peace of mind.

Like I said though...I've only had the Elites since February and have not had a problem with them. I'll need to give it a few more months to truly tell. I use them almost everyday.

so they don't shift at all when dropped? it sucks because the shift causes it to then get wobbly so during metcons is a pain to stop, adjust, restart...
