UFC 118’s Couture vs. Toney

This should be a really entertaining fight.

Toney is an amazing boxer but he may be a little too full of himself. He has been reminding me of Michael Bisping lately.

Although Toney dominates the average UFC fighter at boxing he lacks a lot in grabbling, on the ground, and is not ready for a more mixed martial arts fight.

I say Couture FOR THE WIN.

Any thoughts or comments?

I will NOT pay for this event.
Just a bad joke - IMHO.

These kinds of fights make the UFC look bad. Randy is a great fighter but he should retire and coach .

my thought, exactly...
and Toney? Good grief... even Boxing fans don't want to see Tnoey in the ring anymore. this is not going to "expand the fan base" of the UFC. It is a circus side show - nothing more.

It sounds like it will be like what the UFC was before all these "rules" and "weight class" nonsense. And also probably not very entertaining.

The problem is this. Everyone wants to see the most elite boxer versus an elite MMA fighter, problem is elite boxers don't want to crossover, there is MORE money in boxing! Why would they come over and get beat up for less money?
This is the best UFC can do, hopefully it'll improve over the last couple of years as it has been doing. This sport is evolving same with any other. It'll get better.

I agree, its a freakin' Terrible Match-Up. Randy is a great coach and inspirational person, but far from his prime. Toney is a has- been. This match shouldnít be happening in the ďElitistĒ UFC, maybe a smaller show. In the end ,Randy will give him a wrestling G&P clinic.

I want to learn to grabble. I take it this skill is when you play scrabble while you grapple? No?

Re: UFC 118ís Couture vs. Toney

BTW As someone has already said, this is the best "Boxing vs MMA" match that any org could possibly produce. Let's just look at it for what it is.

We should embrace it as an answer to the old argument of which combat sport is better. Let's just enjoy the whole 150 seconds that will last so we can all move on...
