Possible Mild Rhabdo in a client, but need some advice...

I have a member that was diagnosed with mild rhabo a few weeks ago after he had been experiencing severe muscle cramps (full body) and tenderness in specifically his abdominal muscles. He had labs drawn and his CK was 1300. No other lab values were out of range.
Doc told him to take 2 weeks off training, so he did. He came back this week and did some light bench press and pullups, went to work and had severe cramping full body, almost went to the ER but waited it out and it subsided. Is there something else I'm missing here? All his electrolyte and mineral levels checked out and he hasn't had any swelling in the muscles or discoloration of his urine.
Until we figure it out, he's afraid to train and I'd second that thought, being that the side effects of this are so unpleasant.
Any advice would be welcome...

Hard to say exactly not knowing his health history, and current history. Medications he's taking, etc.

That being said, I'd recommend him going to specialist to get a further evaluation. Just because there is no discoloration of urine does not mean it's not another episode, possibly less severe.

Make sure your client is drinking plenty of water. But otherwise, sometimes, the best thing you can do as a trainer is realize when to refer clients to other professionals.. Without knowing much more about your client, this may be one of those cases.

I spent several years working towards my doctorate of pharmacy, and there are plenty of prescription medications that will cause severe muscle pain and cramping as a side effect. If I am a betting man, that's my guess. Send him to his doctor.
