If you run the earbud wires down the back of you shirt and use medical or electrical tape to snug them up it helps quite a bit.
Gym music is a tough one. I was a member of a "key club" gym where members have a key and it's open 24-7. Theres no staff on duty and the music was like XM radio or something of that sort.
There were some major problems in there over music. It was a good thing when they scrapped the system.
I can see the point though, It was quite embarrasing when little Suzi Who walks in the gym and DIE MUTHERF^(*@R, DIE MUTHER*&^*, DIE!!! Is blaring across the room.
I guess the 70's and 80's stuff is pretty safe so that's what is played...

"You say you'll never be mine, but darlin' there'll be a time
When I'll taste all that love that you been hidin'
It's just a question of time, before you make up your mind
And give up that love you've been denyin'"
-The Grass Roots

LOL!!!

And there just seems to be something disturbing about lifting steel to the sounds of the Bay City Rollers. Maby it's just me.

(W/F Safe link to an apparel company).

These people make decent training clothes with various "gear management" solutions sewn in (clever pockets at locations that don't bounce when you run, loops to control earbud wires, etc.).

The technology they use isn't nearly as high-tech as they make it sound (I'm sort of stunned that you can get a patent for small loops sewn into the collar), but it also means that it doesn't break down easily. And their prices are not out of line for modern quick-dry training clothes, even without their adaptations.

Get on their e-mail list for notification of sales; they sell their t-shirts at 1/2 price about twice a year, which makes them an excellent bargain.

I got an iPod Shuffle--the new, tiny one. Haven't had trouble with the wires, I just clip it to the front of my T-shirt wherever it won't get in the way. Usually that's between my sternum and navel but it goes up near my neck when I row and down lower when I bench press.

My own tastes run to R.E.M., Talking Heads, the Ramones, Meat Puppets and the Clash. Call it '80s music if you want...

"...something disturbing about lifting steel to the Bay City Rollers" - I'm in a coffee shop in the White Mountains (NH) right now getting strange looks from everyone because I'm at a table by myself outwardly laughing at that one Jonas!

Funny how a solution as simple as running the wire through my shirt totally eludes me at 6:00am. I guess I'm not really much of a morning person, heh

Ramones, Meat Puppets, and the Clash - they all do the job for me too :-)

Fun stuff!

P.S. At the gym yesterday there was a woman on the treadmill for a half hour talking on her cell phone. I just don't know what else to say about that...

Yesterday I listened to half of a Tiger Army album during my work out. They are a psychobilly band. And then sometimes I listen to Justin Timberlake. I know, I know. :-)

I workout at home, or in parks, so I dont usually worry about music. I normally just have background noise, tvs, cars, birds, my crying, etc...

Tiger Army and Justin Timberlake. That's very opposed.

I prefer anything, even radio just so it's white noise. Commercials and songs I don't like tend to irritate me so I burn a cd with random things are pick out whatever is around the cd player ( today is the best of Sting, but then again this was for Private Lessons ).

My current cd is a mix of Linkin Park, Johnny Cash, The Clancy Brothers, Mjolnir, Metallica, Stained, Audioslave. There is some other random rock in there. Misc movie tracks, lot's of them. It depends if I need a kid friendly cd or a me friendly cd.

I have an Ipod. I've yet to plug it in yet. Though, I should given by dvdrw is dead and I'm outta cdrs.
