Strained my deltoid again on Monday doing DB snatches so had to skip the shoulder press workout at our affiliate. Hopefully it's on the mend now. This was a hard workout!

Very nice Micahel time. Todays WOD looked great to. Thats a lot of deadlifts, great job!

Thanks. The WOD today was hard. The worst was going from the rower to the box jumps. Awful!! Rowing is not my favorite.

Yeah - I don't know what it is about rowing but trying to go just 3 or 4 seconds faster on your split can really kill your next exercise!!

WOD

5 Power Cleans
15 GHD sit ups
400 m run

5 rounds with 2 minute rest between. Score is time of each 400 m run

Our instructions were to run the 400 like we thought we would die! :-)

Used 78# for the cleans

400 times were 1:32, 1:37,


On the third run I hit a serious wall. Started seeing spots and feeling like I was going to pass out. I have just cleaned up my diet this week and cut out all sugar and simple carbs and didn't eat much today. I think that was it. Anyway, DNF'd the workout! Finished the third run at a walk and called it a day. I really pushed it on the first two runs though and got a PR time in a WOD so that's something I guess. Oh well, tomorrow's another day!

Wow - good work! It's tough DNFing. It's happened to me before and I remember one time when i went atkins like a year ago. For a couple of weeks I was doing awesome and then we had a workout that was like:


For Time -
1000 M Row
25 Burpees
750 M Row
50 Burpees
500 M Row
75 Burpees

I actually had to lie down twice during this workout and the room was spinning ... Stick with the diet and see what happens in 4 or 5 more days! Remember to refuel post WOD with a clean protein/carb.

Yeah it really hits you like a ton of bricks! I can recall at least one other workout where this has happened in the last couple of years. The other workout I finished at a really slow pace, but since the point of this one was the fast 400m, it was time to quit. Caleb said "You're done" so I followed orders. He knows me well enough to know that there was something wrong. Took the weekend off, so we'll see how tomorrow goes.

work sets:

125x5

AMRAP 12:00

10 thruster 45#
8 ring rows (sub for ring push ups)
6 box jumps 24"

5 rounds + 10 thrusters

Shoulder is a lot better but still not 100%. Thrusters felt ok. Tried not to get sloppy.

Practiced some double unders because the workout on Thursday is Flight Simulator. Got an unbroken set of 50 so there's no reason why I should not be able to finish. We'll have a 30 minute time limit. I'll be ticked if I time out!!
