Today was a sad day for me.

After my workout today (power cleans and 2000m on the C2) I went to take my trusty workout shoes off and one of the ripped right through the seude near where my foot bends.

It looks like the sweat of 3 years of accumulated fencing, kettlebell and crossfit sessions was finally too much for them.

On the upside i now have an excuse to buy some adidas weightlifting shoes.

Bought my new shoes today!

Horrified by the price of them but as soon as i did some snatches and squats in them the pain was forgotten.

Felt SOOOOOOO much better in the bottom position.

Congratulations Don. And sorry about the good old pair. Did you have a funeral?

What shoes did you get? Adidas or Chuck Taylors?

I have been wanting to get some weightlifting shoes myself.

Beth, my old shoes are going to be kept as an item of historical interest.

The shoes i used to use were quite similar to chucks in that they had a thin flat sole and minimal padding but it turns out they were still a bit unstable for real weightlifting.

My new shoes are these ones

They attracted a lot of curious looks yesterday during my squat session
