Was hoping for a birthday snatch PR today. Technique wasn't there, something is missing. I am punching through with the hips, but I think I needed to pull back with my torso or something, I'll send some video to Tamara for some critique. Snatch Heavy Singles (Supposed to be 10, but did more because of all the misses) 40x2x3 80x2 100x1 120x1 135x1 145x7x(f) (I have no idea what happened. No comment.) 155x2x(f) 155x1 (The only successful lift I made today) 165.5x2x(f) (Wanted to PR. First miss was close, second wasn't going to happen. Back Squat 215x3x5 A little tough, but fine. Press 105x3x5 Not too bad. Trying to work out something in terms of my pressing angle in my forearms due to the high level of flexibility in my shoulders (A little tough to explain). This really should be much easier than it is though, my press dropped like crazy the past couple months. Ah well, I'll work it back up. |

Midnight session in the garage (Could not find time to go in until 11:45. Okay, that's a lie. I procrastinated until 11:45). Back Squat 220x3x5 Felt nice. Last set was a little tough. Form and depth was good. Press 110x3x5 Better than normal, but tough. I need to figure out proper forearm and wrist angle, and rewatch some instructional videos, something isn't right here. I used my wrist wraps, which helped a little but I don't want to have to rely on them. Going to go up 2.5# next week (I got some fractional plates last week) |

So what if the jerk was a narrow split, did you catch the bar with straight arms and avoid a pressout....if so I personally don't really think a narrow split is bad.

Clean and Jerk, 10 Heavy Singles 135x1 140x1 145x1 150x1 155x1 160x1 170x1 175x1 180x(f) (Didn't pull the bar back I don't think, and wasn't interested in fighting it) 180x1 (Same problem, but fought through to make the lift, definitely a struggle) |

Got OLY shoes today, the gym I bought them from insisted on a SUPER snug fit, but I think he talked me into buying something too small. I'm going to attempt to exchange them. Anyways, decided to high bar squat today, and man, I am NOT used to the position anymore at all. It hurts, but I'll elaborate with the video I post later. Back Squat 185x3x5 OHP 112.5x3x5 Hard like anything (press). Video soon. |
