Re: Starting Strenght + Crossfit

2-3 weeks is not enough to evaluate the effectiveness of any program. Pick one program, stick to it for a minimum of 3-4 months, then decide whether you like where it's taking you.

And no, eating 2600 calories a day will not make you fat if you're training hard.

A very newbish estion, but the roughly 500 caloric surpluss also a requirement for your program ? And does it have to be met every day ? I understand this is needed for gains, and I know I will gain fat, but 500 cals EVERY day seems a bit too much, no ? Diet is my main concern.
No, the additional cals are not needed.

I agree, a few months of any program is needed to see what it will do for you.

I understand. TBH, for me this strength element is just overwhelming, everyone is saying something different, the diet, which days, how, what to do what not do...

For you, strength training is all that is needed for now. Your nervous system is not tuned for strength and you will experience nice results for the time being without additional cals as your nervous system acclimates to handling heavy loads.

Meh. The frequency of useful-to-me information really declined a couple of years ago, and honestly there just isn't (or, at least, wasn't) that much information that they were putting out for a fee that I could find for free. So I unsubscribed quite a while ago.
