Just got to try out my new 40 kg/88lb KBC kettlebell, and I love it!
Handle thickness & length is excellent for me!
Get some!http://www.crossfit.com/discus/messages/26/25901.jpg

Anyone hear from KB Concepts lately?

I ordered a 20kg a week ago -- e-mailed them today to check status and got an "over quota" failure message.

Frank, you rock man! I got my 12kg the other day. It's sweet! I call her "Betty". Only thing is I keep hitting my forarms and they are sore!!! I love doing the sumo squat with it.
I will get some pictures soon!

Thanks Jennifer,I used to beat my forearms up pretty bad at first.
Good instruction and a lot of practice will help.
Hang in there!

A quick update on KBC: I spoke with Dave in the last week and he told me he was shipping the KB orders in the order they were received.
The first shipment was about 1,000 kettlebells and already a second order from their manufacturer had to be placed.
Usually, I can catch Dave live around noon -1:30PM(Eastern Time)at his office.
After checking their training calendar on their website, it looks like he might be in Miami this weekend for a KBC seminar.
I hope that helps somewhat.:triangle_right:

Jaime, did you end up sanding the handles? I did my first real workout with my new KB's yesterday and I really like the feel but they do start to feel a little slick when I start sweating. Is it like that on all KB's? This is my 1st set.

Just got an e-mail from Dave, at KBC, and he wanted to let everyone at CF know that he is going as fast as he can to keep up with the huge amount of orders, shipping, and correspondence.
Please keep in mind that KBC is a small company with literally only a handful (at most) of people there to move all these KB orders.
Dave, in the true pioneering spirit, took on this very big and difficult task.
He ask for you folks to hang in there with him as he tries to get more folks on his staff to speed things up. Dave is very appreciative of your business and wants to nake sure everyone gets their orders as fast as possible.
If anyone out there has ever started a business with a small staff, or by themselves, and then started getting very successful very fast; you'll get an idea of how it is going at KBC.
Very little sleep. and LOTS of long hours taking care of business.

Parker, are you using chalk on the handles?
It does help.

I received my 3 KBC kettlebells. I don't know enough about kettlebells to really review their design very well.

The packaging is minimal and where the boxes failed, there are areas of the powdercoat that really took a beating in shipping. I realize they are just iron balls the huck around, so I am not really concerned about them being too pretty.

The 16kg box essentially disintegrated in shipping and was reboxed by UPS once the address label was wiped out. Where it had worn through the box, the powder coat is gone.

The kettlebells are placed in a plastic bag and a hunk of foam is stuffed in the box, its probably the original box from the manufacturer, so it had to survive a long boat ride, then a cross country UPS trip, well they did not make it very well.

Again, some cosmetic damage is not a problem if I am saving a few bucks :-).

Parker,

The handles get a little slick, even with chalk. I work out in my garage here in NC and its about 95 degrees outside with 60% humidity. I have been doing mainly technique work and havent done any really high reps, so it hasnt become a safety issue yet. I would hate to drop one on my foot, though! If I start to do higher reps and it becomes a problem then I would definitley take the advice of the experienced guys and sand the handles.
