Re: horse stall mats - transportation?
I paid $33 for each one year ago. They were on sale but this holiday season I believe they were $38. They're price $42 regularly so there's big savings over "fitness" mats which are at times thin and not as tough.

Re: horse stall mats - transportation?
I just finished matting my garage. I purchased the 4' X 6' X 3/4" black rubber mats and loaded two at a time (rolled up) in the trunk of my 2008 Honda Civic.
If I can do it with that car, assuming you don't own a mini cooper or a smart car, you can do it with any car. |

Re: horse stall mats - transportation?
I fit four in the back of a Jetta without any problems. I definitely could have fit one more, maybe even two...
At $40 a mat, stall mats are definitely the way to go. I had a couple of custom quotes that got CLOSE to the cost of stall mats, but if was for a much thinner mat. |

Re: horse stall mats - transportation?
I actually got one hung up in the door frame and tore it. They were stored outside at the tractor supply store. It was July and quite hot. The matts were very soft from the heat.
It was completely my fault, but the tractor supply place exchanged it for me free of charge. |

Re: horse stall mats - transportation?
Two mats fit very easily in the back of my Civic, too (with the back seat down). I drove out to the Tractor Supply Store in Boerne and it was great. There was country music, the old guys were a healthy mix of friendly and surly, and I walked out with a pearl-snap button-up shirt they had on the sale rack. I even had some cold ones along for the ride. The only thing I was missing was Johnny Paycheck on my iPod for the ride home...

Re: horse stall mats - transportation?
I was able to fit 6 of the 6x4x0.75 mats into my 2007 Honda Civic with the back seat down. It was quite a struggle to get them in though and the only reason I even tried to fit so many is that Tractor Supply was over an hour away from my home.
The employees at Tractor Supply didn't think it was possible to fit more than 4, but my wife convinced them otherwise. ![]() |
