This is the key. It depends on what her view of body image is as well as those in the gym/facility. If you're training her, then you set the tone for this. One of my goals is to help change the idea that skinny and frail is attractive in girls.

Besides, 5'6" and 135ish is not big at all. If you increased her bodyfat, then her diet can be tightened up. Every girl I've coached with barbell training and emphasizing protein intake loses bodyfat, even if they were skinny to start with.

Man, who ever thinks not being to fit into jeans is a bad thing? Damn, I'd love me a girl who's splitting her jeans because her thighs are too large--due to being muscular from squatting, not fat...

You said that your client is eating "90% good", but you didn't say whether that 90% is Paleo.

How long has she been Crossfitting?

I'd definitely be interested in her diet, and I'd work to show her the strength is beauty side of femininity. The female body, when curved due to muscle, is incredibly sexy...and it sounds like the sexy aspect is something she wants. *shrug*

Re: Client getting bigger / stronger

Tell her to lose some body fat now that she has actually added a little muscle and she will look better than ever and her jeans will fit again. Losing said fat with the increased muscle mass will be easier than before.

You can also tell her that muscle actually helps to shape and round out a woman's lower half and is generally considered to be very attractive.

This delicate situation is best handled by a woman's finesse.
and we are allowing Tamara to handle it? and the rest of us?

Tell her that building muscles and bones now will see to it she doesn't break her hip and other bones when she hits 55+.

Oh, shush, Blair.

Sometimes people need a slap upside the head. I've been fighting this same battle with a girl at my gym. Let's face it...if the perceived choice is skinny or strong, a lot of women will choose skinny. Whether or not that is the actual choice is the battle. Some people are never ever going to be happy with their bodies.
