Are you in the TOC/JOC at night I take it? Otherwise I'd be concerned if you were attempting to go on patrols wit a diet like this. Glad you are hitting your goals but be careful of a crash that might affect those to your left and right.

Re: Strict Paleo Zone

First and most importantly, thank you for what you do.

Now.....

1,7xx calories per day? For 2 weeks? Protein is all jerky? AND you're doing met cons?

Of course you're losing weight.

Seriously though, that's WAY too low a calorie count for an adult male. I know you keep going back to blocks per Dr. Sears, and Matt Chan, but there is no way on God's green earth that Matty only eats 1,7xx calories per day. Let's take a closer look at some things real fast.

According to the following chart, 16 blocks is for a "small male" which I would not place you in being 5'10:
Zone block determination

Now as for your Matt Chan claim, he states in THIS INTERVIEW the following:
Quote:
During the off-season, which for me is until January 1st, I give myself some leeway. I have one, two, maybe even three cheat meals a week and I allow myself to be human. But as soon as my training gets serious, my diet gets serious too. I stick to those quality food sources and I weigh and measure my food at about 20 blocks a day. Then as my volume increases and I start introducing maybe two workouts a day, I will eat more.
So here he says 20 blocks a day during the off season, and as training goes up so does his intake/blocks.

Serious buddy, eat a little more. Increase that protein intake some and let's build a little muscle instead of of just maintaining it. And for the love of everything in this life, eat something besides jerky, please.

Re: Strict Paleo Zone

Beef Jerky is just a place holder for the blocks of protein....lol. Definitely not living off it alone.

Re: Strict Paleo Zone

You're not measuring yourself consistently. Do you honestly think your neck shrank two inches (and then grew again) from losing five pounds? And why are you bothering with wrist size, which should be one of the most static measurements? Work on establishing consistent measurements before using them as any sort of gauge for progress.

Quote:
5/8:
35" Waist
17.5 Neck
Weight 183

5/15
Neck 16.25
Waist 34.5
Wrist 7.5
Weight 180

5/23
Neck: 15.25
Waist: 34
Wrist: 7
Weight: 178

5/31
Waist: 33.5
Neck: 16
Wrist: No Change
