Re: 1 year can change your life * Before & After Pics

Wow!!! I can't wait until all the fluff comes off my bod.

I can promise that CF won't improve my tan, though. I'm nuclear white and I glow in the dark. If I want to go through life without melanoma, I have to say out of the sun! SPF 35 is for sissies. Real pasty pale people wear SPF 70!

But in all seriousness, it's photo pairs like yours that keep us n00bs going.

I know none of you believe me, but I havn't been to a tanning bed. The 2 pictures were taken with different cameras in the exact same spot, so you can see the shade of yellow on the paint. Just a different flash/lighting that's all. But I am more tanned than last year due to the fact I never wore a shirt all summer

Jeff, that is absolutely amazing! Congratulations on your progress! I absolutely LOVE people who are brave enough to post before/after pictures. I think it gives people an idea of where they could be in 6 months, 1 year...and so on.

People who I have not seen in a while will often ask, "WOW, how did you lose so much weight!?" I always tell them the same thing. "I changed my diet, and I started CrossFitting 3on/1off." The reaction is always the same...they are disappointed. It's as if they expect me to say, "well, I just took this magic pill twice a day, and it just evaporated". Or "There's these special meal supplement shakes I drink instead of EATING!" People don't want to hear that diet and exercise REALLY ARE the key to better fitness and overall health. When I explain the paleo diet, 9 times out of ten I hear, "Oh, I couldn't do that, that's HARD." YEAH, IT'S HARD. Know what isn't hard? Being fat.

Sorry to go off on a tangent....congrats to you on your journey! Keep up the good work!

Jennifer,

I love that quote. It TOTALLY sums up what the general population is like. You and I, and countless others on this board, know how much hard work it takes to achieve goals. It's not rocket science, it's diet and excercise.

Thanks for the kind words, I can't wait to see what another year brings. Looking forward to your most recent photos as well.

Cheers

I just reference things I know they won't do. Cleans, snatches, heavy DL, heavy squats, sprints, and lots of fat in my diet. That prescription is so f'ing far from the LSD cardio and high carb bs that they've been fed- it might as well have been the result of an alien abduction.
