If You Were to Start All Over Again......

I'm curious for those who are veterans to CF. If you were to start CF all over again, what would you do differently?

Scaling, frequency, recovery, skills, order of skills, dealing with injury (particularly shoulders), nutrition etc...

ANy input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would read Kelly Starlett's book "How to become a supple leopard".

I would do gslp and learn oly technique before getting toooo serious about cf. once I could squat clean (and i mean catch it in the hole) 235lbs then i would add in normal met cons. Prior to that it would be jogging mostly and body weight stuff.

I would be sure to spell his last name correctly.

This.

Definitely learn the olympic lifts first, then get strong and focus on conditioning.

When I started I was already decent at all bodyweight movements and the gymnastics stuff was pretty easy for me to learn (I'm small and was a college wrestler). My gas tank was also pretty decent.

I still support Christopher Morris's answer in this thread (wfs).

Perfect your squat first.

You're right. Add in calf raises and some tricep extensions too.

Take note that I started working out when I was 16/17, and started CrossFit when I was 18- back then, before I got into martial arts, looking good was a top priority. And, hey, you gotta make sure you do what you can to achieve your goals.

Also, I am home, and whether or not I'm drinking whiskey is not of your concern
