Tonight after supper, my 13 yo son challenged me to a DL max contest. This was after Cindy and 5X5 Front Squats. He weighs 100# and got 165#, I weigh 190# and got 305#, both PRs. I think he's finally beginning to see what I've been talking about with XFit.

My son Joe pushes me as well. He is 18 and will be 19 next month. He is in the army reserve and finished up his basic and advanced training right before Christmas. I have to work hard to try to stay ahead of him. He has me beat on running and endurance but I am still ahead on power and strength. But in his defense, his strength is going up quicker than my running is improving.

Good stuff. Impressive that you were able to PR despite the days earlier workout.

James,
Actually, he beat you.
He lifted 1.65lbs per pound of bodyweight,
and you lifted 1.60lbs per.

Did you both do the WOD beforehand?

Frank,
Glad to see you back! My Dad is a Marine from the Vietnam era...I have the greatest respect for you guys.
Yeah, I calculated it out later and told him...his chest poked out a little further, beat the old man. But at 42 yo, I ain't complain'n.

James,
Tell your son he can come wrestle for me anytime. Any 13yo who can do Cindy, then best the ol man pound for pound in the DL, has got to have heart.
