Ryan,
I agree with you regarding all of the above.
Thanks for leading this challenge.

Roger, We would all love to see a video of your handstand walk for motivational purposes. With the pull-up challenge there were those who already had 40+ - the challenge was for those who wanted to bring their numbers up. Same applies here.

Jason, the honor system seemed to work fine for the pull-up challenge - so we will use that for this one as well.

Ryan - Nope I have not been practicing my C&J. In fact I don't think I have ever done a C&J (except maybe in Jr. high weight training which certainly doesn't count)

I'll see about getting a video of handwalking for you all. I also still owe you folks the one arm rope climb video.

Roger-

He did it back to the ladder. He would fold at the hips and pike down to a lower rung to get off the ladder.
Ryan- Sounds good! Thank you for taking on this project!

Lauren, Robb - I'm happy to help.

Roger - I had forgotten about the one-hand rope climb. Now I'm looking forward to seeing both videos. Thanks in advance for sharing.

Lynne - Thanks for the quick response and for helping me to get this chart to display the way I wanted.

Here's the chart with the information I have so far. 'Abc' stands for 'already been completed' or 'achieved before challenge' (take your pick). I'll start filling in the dates as soon as the participants inform me of their progress. Based on the information so far, Rick, Kevin and George will probably be hitting 25' soon.

I would recommend, unofficially of course, for those for whom the handstand walk is already a conquered challenge and are interested in something more - to try a handstand obstacle course. The difficulty of the course can easily be adjusted to your level of handstand proficiency.

Construct the course out of panel mats, slanted beams, spotting blocks arranged in various configurations, heights, angles, surfaces etc. Be creative and challenging but remember to use a degree of caution in choosing your materials and landing surfaces. A simple course might simply entail stepping over some 6" bars, while an advanced course may include such challenges as lowering to the floor while in a handstand from a 3' box, walking around a 6" wide curving mat and walking up mats of various heights in a stair step fashion.

Have fun.

Yours in Fitness,
Coach Sommer

Hi Kevin,

Your soul?!?!? That's OK. Just sacrifice a chicken in my name and we'll call it even. Next time I update the list, your name will be on it.

Ryan

P.S. I hope everyone realizes I was joking about the chicken.

Thanks for the effort Ryan. I feel kind of guilty suggesting the challenge and then disappearing for 10 days. I like the way you have set things up.

I got a lot of work to crack before I will get my 100.

Were the entrails especially propitious?

I *do* hope you remembered to examine its entrails...
