Been doing Crossfit for 7 months, great workouts and fantastic results. Problem is after all the workouts and work during the week, come Friday I enjoy a cold beer. I drink Guinness but just found out the nutrition (calories). Makes me wonder is it worth it?

hey, guinness is good for you. there's only 200 cals in a pint, i read somewhere. not too bad. i think you could do a lot worse than guinness.

You're drinking a bit of Guiness on Friday's and you're wondering if it's OK? I would say a beer or two one day a week is fine, but you have to find your own concept of "moderation" for sure.

I can't really drink beer anymore. I got the flu on New Years...right after drinking a couple Fat Tire Pale Ales...now just thinking of it makes me feel sick.

I took the req of people here and started buying some good organic cider at Whole Wallet...mmmm, good stuff! I like the Aspall (sp?) brand from England...the US ones seem to be too sugary.

Unfortunately for me, I love beer. Belgium Ales (in particular Triples) and India Pale Ale being my two favorite styles.

Favorite Belgium: Unibroue, La Fin Du Monde (the end of the world)

Favorite IPA: Bell's, Two Hearted Ale

Anyway, I am working on avoiding other junk food completely first and then I will try to moderate my beer. Currently I have about 3-5 beers per week.

As an economist, everything in life is about trade-offs. How badly do you want to have elite fitness? Are you willing pay the costs? (In this case beer or fill in your own blank)

Mmmmm....Guinness. And most other dark beers (Old Rasmussen Russian Stout at TJ's is the *****). A few beers a week isn't gonna hurt you. A few beers a day will probably slow things down though.

What types of cider are you all buying? I found some cider when I was in Florida and it was good, but it was loaded with sugar...9g (16g total carbs) per 12 oz.
