One thing that helped me out is stare at isolated mark on the floor about 10 feet in-front of you.

I found that staring at the mirror or drifting my gaze around the room would throw my timing and balance off but once I was able to stare at one spot on the floor I would increase my consecutive unbroken doubleunder max by like 50%.
