can you comment on my squats

I have changed my squats in the last two months. Now I try to go deep as much as possible. This caused me to drop my max weight. I can do max 100kg on back squat, 75kg on front. I feel like I loose power at the lowest point of the squat, but I am pretty comfortable sitting there with lots of weight. It is getting up from the lowest point is not easy. I am trying to get the bounce effect, but not really helping/happening. I am suspecting my feet are still a bit narrow (since I try to go as deep as possible) and my hips are not going back enough ( since I try to stay vertical).

I am posting a front and back squat video. Can you comment?

Can't watch the videos as they're set to private (I think, as I have to ask permission).

Re: can you comment on my squats

Both look fine, really. The front squat looks better in terms of hitting the bottom position and catching a slight bounce/rebound. In the back squat video, your facial expression leads me to believe you're in pain. Not seeing the squat from a side angle, I can't tell if your hips are going back or not.

However, in the back squat, I would work on moving your hands in a bit to keep the upper back tighter, relax your facial expressions, and try to sit down instead of sitting back. Work pause squats where you sit as deep as possible and pause in the position, then rise after a slight bounce to get out of the hole.

Both looked pretty good. I concur with the previous suggestions of narrowing your hands during the back squats, and pause squats are great for working sticking points in the hole; deadstop method works as well.

As for your front squat, everything appeared solid except that you lifted your heesl some.....Might be some ankle immobility.

Good luck!

Re: can you comment on my squats

My only beef is that it's a bit knee initiated. The hips need to initiate first by going back and getting tension in the hamstrings, but that's really nit picking because it's barely knee initiated. Otherwise it's a great squat.

Re: can you comment on my squats

Thanks

Yes observations are really helpful. I am moving my heels a bit, especially when it gets heavy, I feel like I even need to move a step to front. I did deadstop and pause squats, they hit my quads. Never had that feeling before, thanks.

I will work on these and hopefully post improved videos in couple months
