Re: Camp Leatherneck Fitness Throwdown

I would love to carry it on next year...except for the whole being in Afganistan thing....
No question about it, #1 and #2 would not have changed regardless of scoring- they got first and second in every event! A lot of the other placings I believe would have been different though.
No worries though, everyone works long days and I hope I'm not coming off as ungrateful or anything, I just personally think that cumlative scoring would have given a better representation of actual fitness levels in the placings(again not really counting #1 and #2 as they would not have changed).
Anyways, enough of that, thanks again for your efforts...but Eva today? Not cool!

Dent--I said you should rest more if you competed! You have to listen! I PR'ed on Eva though, I'm just saying...

Re: Camp Leatherneck Fitness Throwdown

I guess I missed that part...or I don't like to rest because the WOD breaks up the monotony that is AFG....either way I PR'd on Eva too!!

Re: Camp Leatherneck Fitness Throwdown

Hey guys, I have been in Bastion for 4 weeks now and just heard there is a bit of a cross fit scene over in Leatherneck, I would love to get amongst it if I could get some directions. Would have been good to be in this throwdown but have been over to Kaf for couple of days. Any help would be appreciated. Lee

Re: Camp Leatherneck Fitness Throwdown

WONDERFUL Thank you very much for posting that.

Ya' had me going with the bosu juggle MREs...Here are links to the Event WODs.
Events 1 & 2: http://www.crossfitleatherneck.com/2...-camp-lnk.html (wfs)
Event 3: http://www.crossfitleatherneck.com/2...round-two.html (wfs)
Event 4: "The top 16 male and top four female finishers from this challenge moved on to the climactic event, during which rain, a rarity in southern Afghanistan, and chilly conditions around 40 degrees made the going even tougher. Remaining competitors now had seven minutes to move a bar loaded with weight of their choosing to a full overhead position any way possible as many times as possible. After every third lift, competitors had to do six burpees – a cross between a pushup, squat, and jumping jack. The winner of this final event would be whoever lifted the most total pounds in the time limit." (from http://www.dvidshub.net/news/64938/d...ness-supremacy (wfs))

And here's a cool pic from your really useful website
