I'm new to crossfit but in the middle of an ironman training program. I'm trying to eat in the zone. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to eat/drink during long runs and rides (greater than 2 hours)that would allow me to stay in the zone?

Lots of great info there. I found that site to be really really helpful in preparing for longer (5-8 hour) endurance efforts. Also really helpful was getting on the zone. Once you do and you start accessing those fat stores you'll be amazed at how long you can go, that's assuming you keep you HR low enough that you don't switch to glycogen as your primary fuel source. This is where I found CF really helpful. The high intensity of the Crossfit workouts raised my lactate threshold such that I could operate at a higher heart rate while still burning fat. Cool stuff.
