Carwin vs Brock OFF!

Man, that stinks I was looking forward to brock working over carwin. Cain and Carwin should be the next logical choice.

UFC.com reported Monday that a light heavyweight matchup between Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin will now headline UFC 106.
Just doesn't have the same appeal. Still get to see Fedor in a couple weeks.

Re: Carwin vs Brock OFF!

Maybe it's back on. I was watching TUF this week and they are still advertising Lesnar vs. Carwin for 106. Any idea?

Re: Carwin vs Brock OFF!

Sorry for posting again; I'm an idiot. The UFC site says Ortiz vs. Griffin as the headliner. My mistake.

That's just the UFC falling behind and not taking the commercial off the air. Plus they need to change the 6'5" Carwin height, he's no where near that.

Sources close to Brock Lesnar's camp informed Heavy.com tonight that Lesnar will not be able to participate in the postponed main event of UFC 108 against Shane Carwin.

Lesnar has battled an undisclosed illness for the past month that forced him to withdraw from a scheduled title defense against Carwin at UFC 106. The bout was rescheduled for UFC 108, but Heavy.com learned earlier this week that Lesnar has not recovered from the illness and cannot train at even a moderate page without quickly becoming exhausted.

A source close to the UFC confirmed the story while pointing out that Lesnar was never officially part of the UFC 108 card.

Word is, Lesnar has mononucleosis, not H1N1.

The question in my mind is whether or not the just-announced Cain Velasquez vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira fight will be for an interim title.

The other thought is, what a drag for Shane Carwin.

Re: Carwin vs Brock OFF!

Lesnar is out of the UFC for the foreseeable future. (WFS) He is so seriously ill that an interim title bout may happen. This sounds like much more than mono. He is hospitalized. What is wrong with this guy?
