Exactly. Everybody is writing off Rogers as a unworthy opponent, but most people do so without having ever watched the dude fight. That dude is heavy-handed & mean, and getting better by the day. Plus, a fight is always a fight, and anything can happen, specially amongst heavyweights...

Arlovksi, who personally is one of my favorite heavy weights, got obliterated by rogers.. who is absolutely a mean dude with ridiculous haymakers....

but... being a monster striker (fujuita punch anyone?) doesn't seem to be the golden ticket to knock out fedor. I think the person to beat fedor will set an extremely high tempo and just drain him (unless he is in fact.. an android).

That was a great fight! Probably Fedor's toughest test to date. Fedor has some seriously heavy hands. He put everything he had into that punch.

You're correct. This wasn't Fedor's toughest test to date. It's just been a while since we've seen Fedor bleeding like that.

That was a seriously good card. The wife and I enjoyed every fight. Brett did better that I expected and could have won that fight when he was gnp'ing Fedor, but Fedor probably isn't human!

I think 99% of the heavyweights out there would have been TKO'ed if then were in the same position as Fedor was with Rodgers on top raining down punches from his guard.

I don't think I've ever seen a more measured and full-body punch in any fight. It was both a near 100% full-body punch, yet at the same time perfectly timed and placed. It wasn't a haymaker that most "heavy-handed" fighters throw.

Now, I really want to see Fedor-Lesner. (Heck, I'd like to see Rogers-Lesner. IMO, Lesner needs to prove he could get past Rogers.) Dana's got to put his ego aside and just pay the man whatever he wants.

I went back and watched those fights just to be sure. Fedor dominated Nog and CroCop start to finish. They were able to gut out more punishment.

I will concede the point about Hunt, though Hunt was not able to damage Fedor.

Rogers was actually able to G&P Fedor with some big shots.

And didn't Arlvoski give him more trouble? Hell from what I remember he was winning until he decided to go for the stupid flying knee.
I think Rogers got lucky with that punch causing that much damage otherwise I think he just ends up getting beat on for 2 rounds like what ended up happening. The only time I ever felt he was doing anything good was when he was on top and even then I wasn't too worried.
