Fructose

Recent research indicts fructose consumption and the consequent production of uric acid as causes of syndrome X and its attendant disorders. In light of this I find myself questioning the wisdom of so many of our friends substituting fruit for potatoes at breakfast - advice that I'd given for decades.

I also think it's time to take on big soda and the sugar/fructose industry headlong. Our community is strong enough to make a difference worldwide.

Re: Fructose

It's far better for you to eat fruit than not to. Fruit juice is the enemy.

Odd, but I agree with Darryl.

Re: Fructose

You'd have to be pretty sedentary and eat a crap ton of fruit

Re: Fructose

If the worst thing you have going on in your diet is fruit and/or fruit juice then you are likely doing quite well.

Hashbrowns are delicious if done right. The secret is drying out the potatoes, then they get nice a crispy.

Agreed to a point. Me I have cut out all soda and sugary drinks and mind my food for fructose. It is easy enough for drinks but food is tough. It is everywhere.
