Pokemon Origins

Ok, not sure if there are any Pokemon fans out there, but holy Jesus..."Pokemon Origins" is absolutely incredible. It is a four-part anime series where Red is the main character instead of Ash and it follows the storyline of the Red/Blue versions. If there's anyone here around my age that grew up with Pokemon, you gotta watch it. Waaaayyy better than the ongoing series with Ash and Pikachu.

Re: Pokemon Origins

Pokemon? really? That's gonna be a hard sell.

Hmm, unless maybe it was a gritty re imagining . . . pokemon battling is called out as the souped up dog fighting that it is, while mobster enforcers use particularly vicious pokemon to keep people in line, charazard burning people alive to set an example . . . CIA operatives are using squirtel to waterboard suspects . . . pikachu is powering the electric chair that executes criminals

Now if you want to talk Avatar: The Last Airbender, I'll be all over that. Fantastic show.

Re: Pokemon Origins

There's a scene where a Squirtle is biting at the throat of a screaming and flailing Charmander.

I haven't got around to watching the whole thing yet, but I will when I have time.

Re: Pokemon Origins

Pearse, yeah, it's a little more graphic than the typical anime episodes. And David, I can't say I disagree with anything you said (except the spelling of Squirtle).
