San Francisco area boxes...

All,

Will be in San Francisco the week of the 21st for work. Staying downtown at Fairmont hotel (mason and Calif streets). Any suggestions on boxes close by? Might have to just get creative at the hotel gym but that can be challenging at times.

Thanks in advance

Glen

If you are going to be in SF, do yourself a favor and go see Kelly Starrett and his crew -wfs-

Glenn-
Public transportation is pretty awesome within SF.
You should be able to get there on any bus that goes to the marina district.

If memory serves, the "30 Stockton" ought to get you there and back - or pretty close.

Important FYI: by the time you visit, SFCF will be in its new location: 1162A Gorgas Ave. The good news is it makes getting here by SF public transit much easier. The 30, 41, and 45 bus lines are your best bet.

Re: San Francisco area boxes...

Glen:

I stayed about two doors down from your hotel on a business trip this fall. I went to LaLane Fitness and to Crossfit San Francisco. The members and coaches at both boxes were very welcoming and friendly. Because of the time of day and my unfamilarity with the area, I cabbed it to both boxes and ran back. The cab to LaLane was cheap (4.00); to Crossfit San Fran was probably double that.

The run back from Crossfit San Fran was interesting; mostly uphill. Have fun with Russian Hill.

Check out Crossfit San Fran's schedule, and see if you can hit a WOD when Paoli or Starrett will be coaching. Enjoy your trip.

Re: San Francisco area boxes...

If you don't mind heading a little north hit up The Cave/CrossFit Marin and get in some gymnastics and parkour while you are here.
