Hey guys,

Along with Lynne Pitts, Again Faster and Crossfit Boston are hosting a venue for the Tactical Strength Challenge on March 3rd.

This competition requires you to deadlift, deadhang pull-up, and kettlebell snatch your way to victory.

The complete rules are here: http://www.tacticalstrengthchallenge.com/rules.html

The overview is here: http://www.tacticalstrengthchallenge.com/index.html

A complete list of venues is here: http://www.tacticalstrengthchallenge...r_03_2007.html

All are welcome to compete. This one is within everyone's reach!

Email me or your nearest venue with questions. I'm at jon@againfaster.com.

Get some!

Best,

Jon

sounds like a blast...too bad there isn't one closer to NYC!

oh, and do those pull-ups have to be supinated or pronated?

David,

Pronated, neck to bar, deadhang. They're not easy! I'm gunning for 20.

Best,

J

Shoot. I'll be doing a Mexico cruise with my Mom during that time....:-(

It really bites because there is finally a competition in Wisconsin.

There's always time to cancel, Kelly! Your mom will understand your need for a trophy grab, won't she? :showoff:

Best,

Jon

Jon, I don't care about trophies. I simply love to compete, even if it's something I don't do well (like the Pere Marquette Trail run or the cross country GS meet with the 52# kettlebell). The TSC is personal for me.

Several years ago I was training for a Chicago TSC. Back then the TSC consisted of 52# pullups, 52# pistols and five minutes of 52# snatches; there were no weight or gender classes. I fractured my left forearm with the kb because I didn't know how to snatch properly. The TSC was cancelled a week from the event. If nothing else, I did decide I needed qualified kettlebell instruction to prevent another injury.

I haven't been able to participate in a TSC since due to scheduling problems.

Kelly,

It's too bad you won't be able to compete.

I didn't mean anything by the "trophy grab" comment--just taking a stab at humor.

I can see why the TSC would be a thorn in your side after the fracture. I'm sure you'll make it to the event one of these days and clean up.

My KB snatches are in their infant stages at this point, and probably will be come March. Hopefully, everything will turn out alright.

Have fun in Mexico!

Best,

Jon
