CFFB Strength Workout

Ok so im currently following the CFFB program and loving it. My question is concerning the Strength Workout of the Day but for only one certain excercise/muscle group. That would be the chinups/pullups. What i've noticed from looking at the past SWOD's was that its usually chinups 3x max reps. What I was wondering if I should do max reps or do 3x5 of weighted chinups which is about 25# added for me right now. Anyone have any experience with this or advice?

Unless you're doing 15+ for all three sets, stick to bodyweight. At least those are the guidelines I've seen thrown around.

If you look at the Collegiate level it will call for 3X15 whereas with Amateur it'll say 3X max reps which assumes that you are less than 3X15 (strict of course, kipping is another matter altogether). I am like you and am oving my CFFB workouts, going to milk it on the linear progression as long as I can on all lifts and then see what the collegiate is all about. Hoping to be very strong and able to do Rx'd by the time that happens. There are some serious strong dudes that follow the site and post.

I'd stick to what John is programming personally, he will bring in weight chins at different times. It's all up to you really though, how many reps are you getting in each set @ BW?

I'd recommend you trust in the programming, Justin. The weighted pull-ups and chin-ups come up on their own eventually.
