My wife has never been an athlete at all. She's always been perplexed as to why I make strange demonic noises in the basement.
Well one of her friends joined a Nautilus fitness center, and tried to talk my wife into joining with her. :uhoh:
I carried her down into the basement, sat her down and explained to her that she doesn't need to pay anybody anything, because she could have for free, much better results than what her friend gets from Nautilus.
I had her do some very basic, very light weight single sets. Bench presses, broom handle back squats, band assisted pullups (she really liked those), some light db work etc.
As you can see from the pic, she doesn't have a whole lotta meat on her bones, and she's already hit me with, "I don't want to get all muscle bound". I reassured her that that's not going to happen.
I didn't work her too hard that first time. I don't want her to get a severe case of DOMS and scare her off. She's actually pretty motivated right now.

 good job getting wifey going. I've been trying to convince dear hubby to give OL a try with no luck. He's doing CF with me though!

I got my wife to Zone, but she is still not ready for crossfit. I think she will get there soon because she sees the improvements in me and knows what I have done to get there. She also complains that she doesn't want to get big muscles. My kids are more or less zone-by-default. My son really likes the crossfit workouts, but timeing is sometimes difficult (he is 8 and needs to do them with me).

Mike.

Well she was doing alright with her pilates and exercise balls and stuff, but when she suggested Nautilus, I about lost it.
That would be like Dan John's wife signing up for Superslow.
Just ain't gonna happen. Not on my watch.
