BREAKFAST and GREENS

I know this may sound stupid to a lot of you, but I feel like I don't eat enough greens..
Especially in the morning, I feel like I should be eating green foods all the time, even for breakfast.
Any thoughts on this?

Greens are good for you and have practically no calories. If you want more, eat more.

Lunch/Dinner would be fine, hard to get excited about lettuce in the morning.

Re: BREAKFAST and GREENS

I'm not sure, I think maybe because I don't really feel like eating breakfast, I mean once I start eating, I'm fine, but I feel like to jump start my body in the morning I should be eating fruit or veggies... I believe I have more energy if I eat greens, and feel better, but I know I need the protien first thing in the morning too.
I've thought about cleaning out my system and go on a juice feast for a week or so and give myself a fresh start.

Greens hardly provide any calories, so not sure about the energy thing. If you feel like you want to incorporate greens, fruits and proteins just make a shake. If I'm in a hurry in the morning i blend a handful of ice, chocolate whey protein, some blue berries, oats, and spinach together with a little salt and cinnamon. Problem solved

Re: BREAKFAST and GREENS

I'm a big believer in listening to your body. (Within reason.) If it says it wants greens, give it greens. Could be the fiber, could be any number of micronutrients, but since they're so good for you there's really no need to analyze too much.

(If, on the other hand, your body says it wants a double chocolate brownie sundae with fudge sauce, you might want to ignore that suggestion. At least most of the time.)

For greens at breakfast, I like spinach and tomato omelettes. YMMV.

couple pieces of fried leftover meatloaf, 2 eggs over 2 cups of spinach, 1/2 sweet potato, with a tomato. Add hot sauce and voilé! good to go.

Re: BREAKFAST and GREENS

I like to mince up a handful of kale, saute it in butter, then add in a few beaten eggs. Easy way for me to get a greens + protein combo in the morning.
