What I was getting at is that no one outside the US and A uses those colours for pounds, KG yes pounds no.........only Crossfitters from the states would have any inkling as to why pounds plates are in colours the way they are.

Just sayin'

Re: Pulled the Trigger

I guess I would probably feel the same way about KG plates then.

I've seen some that follow this color scheme, but the more common ones that I've seen have 55# red, 45# blue, 35# yellow, 25# green, 10# black. That's the colors of my Pendlay competition plates.

not that it matters really but do you know why your box went with those colors and not with the traditional scheme of 55=red, 45=blue, 35=yellow and 25=green?

Probably because that's what the bumper mfg offered. I think they're Troy VTX bumpers.

Re: Pulled the Trigger

I could be wrong but I think the whole "colored pounds" thing came from these guys who use to provide the equipment WAY back when the Games were at the Ranch.

It's the first instance I have seen of colored pound plates. I do like Pendlay's idea better with using a 55lb as the red. JMHO.

Doubt you'd see any issues but it doesn't have a warranty.

The improvement Rogue made from the Rogue to the Ohio bar is impressive. I imagine their new oly bar will be very nice.
Its funny everyone jumped on the bar, but my first !!! was that you got the econ squat stands and no bench, instead of getting the infinity line so you could do way more stuff with it, as well as get spotter arms.

Fair point - let's just say that this is my first purchase and I may do several upgrades in the coming months/years. Stuff arrives tomorrow.

Re: Pulled the Trigger

Looks like an awesome setup to cover most everything.

Don't sweat the bar. The Ohio bar is "better." Are you going to notice? Probably not in any appreciable way. If you notice your bar that much on most Crossfit workouts, you've either got a horrendous bar (locked up or very uncomfortable knurl) or you're overthinking the equipment. The Econ bar is not a horrendous bar. I have an Ohio bar and I love it. It's way nicer than the bars at my affiliate if I really think about it. Plus it's murdered out.. awesome. I would get it again. Some of the affiliate even wobble when you spin them (gross). But I've never noticed it something missing when I pick them up after 3,2,1 go.

I say buy what makes you say "that's awesome" and want to pick it up. It'll all make you just as fit. Looking forward to the pics.
