New Oakley ad

anybody been to the Oakley website lately? I went to look for some new cycling shades, and noticed on the homepage there is a shot of Rich on a rope climb. Hes wearing oakley board shorts and what looks like a wicking workout shirt along with some debranded nanos. I know he wears the glasses all the time, but i guess i just didnt realize they sponsored him or however that works.

I did think it was funny that he was still wearing the nanos, he must just love em that much!

Cool. Too bad Oakley's are expensive and sunglasses tend to not survive me. I either lose them or destroy and thus haven't bought Oakley's in years.

Maybe one of these days someone will make some indestructible sunglasses. Shatter and scratch proof, bendable frames.

Re: New Oakley ad

yea i see what youre saying Blair, im usually rough on equipment too but my oakleys have survived a bunch of stuff i shouldnt have done and just got scratched up. Ive had to replace the lenses once, and ive had them for like 6 years. Ive since retired them to my cycling only glasses, and got a great deal on my daily pair on Black Friday a few years back.

The absolute worst used to be scratching iridiums.

Still it's a pretty good thing they are starting to sponsor Rich.

Bigtime sponsors for CF.

He's been associated with their clothing for at least 4 months or so. They are trying to branch out into athletic apparel so naturally he was someone they should have gone after.

As for sun glasses, I hate them. They don't do anything for me and never have. Carry on.

Re: New Oakley ad

They keep bugs out of my eyes.

They keep rain out of my eyes.

They can hide my eyes.

I really like red lenses.

I have generally found really artificially lit areas too bright for my tastes since I was a kid.

They keep the sun out of my eyes when I'm driving. Sunbeams make me sleepy, not a good thing for driving.

Oakleys are badass.

Re: New Oakley ad

My Monster Dogs have been with me for several years now, and have survived all kinds of things without any issue, including heavy use while doing maintenance work at the school I taught at. I'd love to get another pair of Oakleys at some point, but the current pair don't seem like they'll die anytime soon
