Back Uprise at this year's Games?

Been featured at least twice in mainsite videos recently. Could be the new muscle up? Today Spealler is shown doing the progressions. If I were a competitive elite, I think I would assure this was in the arsenal

I love these prediction threads! There have been some creative ideas in these threads.

I would like to see a Games wod that combines higher skill weightlifting movements with higher skill gymnastics. Something like this:

3 rounds:

Rounds 1: 5 snatch + 5 muscle ups
Round 2: 5 snatch + 5 OHS + 5 muscle ups + 5 back uprises
Round 3: 5 snatch + OHS + 5 lunges + 5 muscle ups + 5 back uprises + 5 backward roll to support

I doubt we'll see back uprises. HQ media has put out red herrings before. I'm just glad I'm not a competitor that has to learn random skills that don't show up in competition.

I really think with the Handstand walking , High Rep Muscle Ups, many variations of the HSPU...there is plenty of gymnastics already.

CrossFit is already favoring the smaller power athlete

Not at the games they're not. Of course that depends on what you consider small.

Anyway, HQ will do what they do

Frankly, I don't know how most regular people have enough time and energy to practice all of of the damn movements they throw at you. Hell, maybe they will have shot put or hammer throw.

Re: Back Uprise at this year's Games?

doubt we will see the back uprise. Look at the video with Spealer. if someone like Spealer who is amazing at Gymnastics find them to be very technical and hard, i doubt you will see many athletes who are even able to do one.
