Re: "High-intensity fitness programs to be reviewed"
Typical resistance to change/risk-averse nature of the military. The old guard is set in their ways but there's plenty of young company grade officers and NCOs who see the value in CF-style training so it's only going to catch on more as those groups get higher on the totem pole in coming years.

Re: "High-intensity fitness programs to be reviewed"
The Marine Corps Times does not work for the DoD and often sensationalizes "much to do about nothing." The DoD reviews things all the time. It's how we make sure that tactics and techniques are current. Things don't necessarily come under review just because someone thinks there is something wrong, but as a matter of quality control.

Re: "High-intensity fitness programs to be reviewed"
I haven't heard of anyone getting rhabdo or injured on P90x. CF however doesn't have that claim, be it in their gyms or with CF'ers doing it on their own (at home or at globos).
Basically, when it gets down to it, it makes no ****ing sense to injure your athletes from a training standpoint. Push them-yes, injure them-no. |
