Anyone have problems going to bed on an empty stomach ? I've tried to not eat after 7pm but its just impossible since I can never fall asleep when i'm hungry.

Kevin;
It's tough, I agree. Sometimes I eat a carrot, or hard piece of candy, other times, I just try to picture doing more pull ups(which I suck at), or climbing and I think, extra weight(i.e. fat), or low BF, strong muscles, and after a few minutes(maybe longer), the urge goes away. You know, the Positive Mental thinking thing. Just my dorky two cents. |

yep i can't go to sleep hungry. it just makes me think of food.. what's more, not-so-good food like pizza, chips, cakes etc and it gets even more difficult to fall asleep then!
is there a reason you're trying not to eat after 7pm? |

I've been struggling with this a bit too. I try to eat my last meal ~5-6 pm and also stop drinking water/liquids (unless I happen to do some sort of sport at night). I don't think that its so much that I feel hungry.. just kind of wired when I try to sleep. It might have something to do with the fact that I work in an office environment most days.
Also can't figure out why I keep waking up in the middle of the night having to urinate, given that I haven't had a drink for hours before going to bed! |

I absolutely cannot, no way. The last thing I do before bed is eat eggs, nuts & oatmeal.

LOL I agree with everyone. No freaking way, I hate even trying to sleep on an empty stomach. Currently working the IF protocol, eating all my food between 5-10pm, then off to bed with a nice full belly (the way it should be).

In my experience it makes the most sense for me to eat a large meal late in the evening. When I'm sleeping my body can devote more energy to digestions and nutrient assimilation. I compress my eating into a 12-8 window of time but eat most heavily in the evening.

I was just talking about this to a friend the other day... and the debate about eating at bedtime or not is still going.
I know the zone says to eat before bedtime... but many other sources says not to eat after 6 or 8. So which is the best? I've seen many people around me lose important amount of fat just by cutting down the food after 6. Personally, i'm like you guys.. I can't go to bed hungry. no way! Or if I do, I'll be up at 3am.. hunting for food in my fridge. |
