elbow popped during overhead squat

On my last rep of a set of 12 OHSs (60kg) today, my elbow popped twice and I slightly lost control of the bar in the forward direction, then regained control before dropping it. The subsequent elbow pain wasn't/isn't particularly painful, though I notice it hurts more when I am applying a pulling force (like trying to open a stuck door). The pain is localized to the inside of the elbow, like where the elbow would touch my ribs if I am standing with my arms hanging down.

My plan is just RICE for a few days, then head to a PT or doctor if it doesn't get better. In the meantime, has anyone else experienced this? If so, what kind of recovery did you experience?

Thanks!

Spencer

Re: elbow popped during overhead squat

Do consistent moblity but avoid stretching stuff for now.

Likely going to have to strengthen it significantly but dont worry about that right now

Do you mean strengthen as rehabilitation, or that I just need to strengthen in general because this sort of thing shouldn't happen on an OHS?

Thanks a lot for your quick responses to these types of question, Steven -- this is the second time for me and I really appreciate it.

Re: elbow popped during overhead squat

Once you get most of your mobility abck yeah you're gonna have to strengthen as rehab.
