We've already got four CF advocates covering the bases, but we're having so much fun I thought I'd pass the link along. Anybody else want to play?

Love the sarcasm in danger's post:

"we promote all those dangerous activities because we are sooo ignorant and misguided by this dreaded fitness conspiracy"

It seems we have yet another critic of CrossFit who is not willing to take the time to learn anything about what he/she is criticising. She thinks CrossFit is about Bosu balls!

Citing the Ken Mannie article is a classic bone-headed argument. Olympic lifts result in hyper-extension of the spine? Not since the press was dropped from competition way back in 1972.

Yep, ouch.

The press was dropped for two reasons: One, the clean & press was starting to resemble a standing bench press. Rather than press the bar overhead, lifters would do an explosive back bend to get under the bar. This became a judging problem and a safety problem. Two, the IWF needed shorten up the time required to run a meet.
