Anyone know the answer?
In your theme options panel (the blue icon that says 'Kaboodle'), you'll find a Typography section, where you can play with it.

Hi Stuart,

You're using Inspire from WooThemes, and while it's a great theme, it doesn't have a built-in option for adding content to the header.

If it were me, I'd make a child theme, and modify a copy of header.php to include either the code you want, or a widget area - that would make future edits much easier.

Not an easy solution for a beginner, but it's the best way I can think to do what you're talking about, and it'd only take someone who knew what they were doing about 20 minutes, tops. (You could potentially use a theme hook in your functions.php file, but now I'm probably just speaking greek. Sorry.)

Re: Official WordPress users thread.

Hey James,

I haven't been inside BTW lately, but if they give you code, you could try putting it in a simple text widget and see if that does the trick. (If it's more than just simple HTML, try the Advanced Text Widget plugin.)

WordPress comes standard with an RSS widget that'll post recent RSS entries from any source, if BTW gives you an RSS feed.

Again, I'm not really familiar with it yet, but I would think that if they give you code, they'd give you instructions on where to put it...

Re: Official WordPress users thread.

Has anyone had any experience with free themes from external links (i.e. not on wordpress.org)?

I am just wondering if there are any sites that have nice free themes that work well.

All I'm going to say is Be Careful. Yes, there are some decent free themes out there, but there are also free themes that are coded with bogus links (usually back to the creator to give them Google juice), malicious code, etc.

If you go with one, be sure it's safe. How? Good question.

Yeah that was pretty much what I was afraid of, unless you go through every line of code you wouldn't know and by that point you could have built or bought 20 web pages.

How about a good page for pay themes any suggestions?

Re: Official WordPress users thread.

Depends, really... if you're wanting a solid theme that you're going to customize yourself, I haven't found anyone better than WooThemes. (.com)

If you want a wide range of themes to choose from, and are only planning on getting one, and not doing much customization on it, I'd check out ThemeForest. It's a marketplace, rather than a "closed" company, so there's still some 'caveat emptor' going on there, but it's still worth looking at, sifting through the ratings/feedback on themes and their authors, etc.

Re: Official WordPress users thread.

I have been very pleased with the quality of code from WPZOOM (sfw).

I purchased my theme for about $70.

I am also interested in this feature and I read the answer but to be honest that made about as much sense as a monster truck driver talking after a run.

I would like something like this http://www.crossfitnyc.com/ (SFW) but it doesn't have to be exactly like it. I want something that pops out and grabs people to click on it so they don't really have to look for it.

Here is my website right now but keep in mind it is not fully operational as we are still deciding a few things.
