Great exercise for fighters

Especially wrestlers and grapplers. The sandbag turkish get up. With a heavy bag (100+pounds). I've been doing 5 reps per side for 5 sets with a 150# bag. Takes me around 20 minutes. It is brutal. To me the mental aspect and physical challenge is the closest thing I've found so far to wrestling, without actually wrestling. For any combat athletes out there , give it a try.

Any one else try these?

Re: Great exercise for fighters

That is way more weight than I can handle - but it sounds awesome! Doing that once a week would build some serious strength.

The greatest TGU that I had ever done was with a 5 gallon water bottle. They weigh about 55 pounds, and have a handle sorta like a kettlebell. But the water is constantly moving inside, so you have to be steady and controlled.

No wonder TGUs have such a great reputation among respected strength coaches! They build just about everything.
