Re: AbMat Burn Guard Testing for Again Faster

I'm in, we are opening a new box so I'm sure we can get it some exposure. I actually get some of the worst tailbone rashes of anyone I know doing sit-ups in any kind of volume. I actually don't care to do Annie anymore so I'd be a great candidate because if it works I'll tell EVERYONE!

Re: AbMat Burn Guard Testing for Again Faster

Got my mat and burn guard last night. Thanks to Again Faster for the quick shipping and for the opportunity to test the product.

I think the burn guard is a great tool and it made the impact on the tailbone/butt a lot more bearable. I had my girlfriend, who is fairly new to crossfit, try it last night as well and she loved it. She actually wants to get one now. The burn guard is made of a super soft material and it's way better than the feeling of the rubber floor at the gym. For those of you who are interested in purchasing one and perhaps had tailbone issues without a guard, the $13 price tag is a no brainer.

We're both going to try it with volume this weekend at open gym and over the next few weeks, but right out the box, A+.

Pros:
-Incredibly easy to attach to the mat
-Soft material
-Lessens the impact on the tailbone/butt

Cons:
-None that I can see

Re: AbMat Burn Guard Testing for Again Faster

I got my AbMat and Burn Guard today.

Everyone at Again Faster was awesome. Great communication and very prompt shipping.

Initial thoughts:
- Blue AbMat looks sharp
- Burn Guard fits great on the AbMat
- burn Guard installation instructions were super easy to follow and had pictures just in case you are visual like I am.
- Burn Guard material is a surprising combination of soft AND dense.
- Burn Guard is a great idea, and it's nice to see AF innovating to solve a major Crossfit inconvienence, butt burn.

I'll use the hell out of this thing for the next 2 months and report back. I was kicking myself for signing up for this because now I'm forced to do more situps......

Re: AbMat Burn Guard Testing for Again Faster

Wish I'd caught this earlier. I've still got monkey butt from doing Annie on Wednesday. Still PR'd it, but dang!! Showers are horrible.

Re: AbMat Burn Guard Testing for Again Faster

Received my Abmat 2.0 and Burn Guard Friday.

Pros:
  • Great Packaging
  • Fast shipping / Tracking info
  • Easy to install burn guard
  • Feels nicer than my other abmat with out a guard

Cons:
  • I feel like the burn guard comes off a little to easy. Extend the coverage on the bottom of the mat a little more for a solid fit.
  • Just a visual thing but the sewing around the flap portion of the burn guard has the corners folding up instead of laying flat.

I'll report more with photos after extensive use.

Thanks!
