Newbie from North Bay Area

Greetings from the North San Fransisco bay area.

In another life I was in the Coast Guard and ate my share of shawarma's over in the sanbox. Now I ride mountain bikes, throw tennis balls for my dog, and cook my wife dinner. Oh, and I am a diver.

Hope to be sharing stories of my pain and trevails soon.

-Mel

Re: Newbie from North Bay Area

well come mel...
we dont have an affiliate in this neck of the woods.
mma gym is doing cf style work outs.. havent checked into them so.. no comment

Petaluma has a small group that does pakour work www.crossfitsc.com daniel is nice guy.
there is a affilate in Napa.. havent heard anything about him so I cant say anything.
couple of gyms in marin county .. Roger is the gymnastic guru and is out of corte madera.
I believe fairfax has one.
One in vallejo.. and eastbay of course as a ton. I can reccomend a good solid level coach for tune work if you need it.

otherwise.. welcome to the suck and take a loooong drink of the kool aid.

Re: Newbie from North Bay Area

Welcome Mel,

I can tell you that I have trained with both Dan at Crossfit Sonoma County, as well as Roger and Andres at Crossfit Marin. You can't go wrong with either! If you are ever in Napa and looking for a workout partner, look me up. Apparently the affiliate here (Dion) runs classes in a park on sunday mornings, but I have yet to check those out. I have found that Healthquest Napa Valley is a pretty crossfit friendly gym, there are a handful of us that do crossfit there. They are one of the few gyms around here that have bumpers and KBs.
